Nearing the finish line

I still can't get over that this is my bedroom with this charming paneling , the bedroom and bathroom feel like two completely new rooms a suite in a nantucket cottage perhaps.

This is the color I am sampling right now , it is not the color , it is nice but I am not feeling it . It is called Mild Mint it is from Behr's new line of primer and paint in one , it is a fantastic paint so thick with great coverage . The best part is that you can get samples tinted to give them a try at home and they are under $5.00 so this is a great new product. This large area I sampled was only half of the amount of the sample .

I am going to go get a greyish tan similar to the color of this bench fabric and I know it will be the best option for the wall color , but only sampling will tell . The green is just too sweet.

Good thing it is only a small area to re-paint again and again .

Ah, I've wanted to do paneling in my house for so long. If it weren't on the market right now, I'd do it in a heartbeat! :)

Looks fab!

this is gorgeous! will you share what materials you used (2x4's cut down?). I'm considering Karla's version at It's the little things. She used MDF so I'm wondering which out of yours and hers would be less expensive/ easier.

Looks so fresh and airy. I'd love to kick back and relax in there - want to come to my house and do it all over again! ;) Lovely!

Chris, this is just stunning! I would love to do this in every room of my house. Another amazing job, congrats! I just posted my stairway reno, which was inspired by your own gorgeous stairs. Someday I will add the chair rail and moldings to complete the look, but for now we will just enjoy them as is. Thanks for the inspiration every day.

Sure love this room! Thanks for all the details on how you did this. I agree the green paint isn't quite it - is it... Looking forward to the finale :)

Looks very relaxing! I agree though, the mint isn't fit for that room. I am loving the teal-blue colored pillow on the large white chair, maybe a toned-down teal blue of sorts or some sort of a soft blue/gray. Can't wait to see the final result!

I meant striped, not white chair. lol

What an amazing transformation! Can you share where you bought your paisley curtains?

It's beautiful! You have inspired me in the past to do trim detail projects in my home and it looks like you are doing it again. Thanks! By the way Martha Stewart has a color called Weimaraner. It is a lovely gray tan that we used in our master bedroom with linen drapes, that look much like the linen on your bench. Just a thought. Jill

It is looking fabulous Chris. Whatever colour you end up with will be just right, or should I say Just Beachy!

I just found your beautiful blog. The fact that it is Canadian is an additional bonus. It's nice to see homes decorated with items we can get here ... and also celebrate all the talented design people we have. Congratulations on a great blog.

Wow Chris great work. I've had trouble leaving a comment when I read your blog lately. I guess you've changed something. Anyway, I love your bedroom panelling and the light colour is definitely more you than the dark colour was before. Don't get me wrong, I think they both look nice, but the light colour seems more your style. Funny my husband actually reads your blog from time to time. He loves your DIY style. He even is thinking about doing paneling in our master bedroom after seeing how great it looks in yours.

Take care,

Lisa

P.S, the girls first day of school pictures are so cute.

Love it and I completely agree with the paint choice. A grayish tan will be amazing. Can't wait to see what you find and choose.
