Basket lights have been on my mind , I love them they are so charming . See I don't like my dining room light , its OK but it isn't doing anything for me , it was a bedroom left over , after looking long and hard I have not been able to find a fixture to replace it , not under about $1000.00 anyway and if you know me at all I would not spend that kind of dough on a fixture , I would make something or buy one second hand , but with the holiday house tour coming I have wanted some projects and this one seems perfect ....what to you think of the basket lights ? do you love them as much as I do ? With all my time not working while I take care of my mending daughter I have been pondering a few projects to come , sometimes we consider moving to gain some more space for our growing girls , but I always have panic when I crunch the numbers who wants to had another 6 figures to what they owe on their current house to get another room maybe two , doesn't compute for me , not to mention the costs of all the projects any house would bring , I need to make a house my own , it seems a better plan to finish our basement to gain a true office space for my husband and to add a real theatre / kids hang out / guest room in the basement as well as a pretty finished laundry room for me after all I can do all the finish work , it would be fun for me.

And brick floors , OK i love brick floors , and I really really want them , next spring I am going to clad my front steps in bricks too , but I would really like to see this used inside my home.

When I saw this kitchen over at the Willows Blog , so sorry my link feature won't work , I just fell in love , what can I say about this kitchen , it is sheer perfection , my husband loves it too , so there may just be brick floors in my future , all I need to do is move my giagantor island into the family room with out wrecking anything , and then the appliances must move out , and we can tear out the tile , while we are making such a mess we might want to just take out all the lower cabinets to do it right , and then put in some new counters while we are at it and why don't we just put in an apron front sink too , sounds like a remodel doesn't it.....well this is all just a BIG maybe , its only money and time right , oh an back breaking work for me ....a girl can dream right ? I guess I should just focus on my basket light project.

Steven and Chris Blogger Day

Well I just have to share with you about my great day yesterday , in Toronto at the Steven and Chris Show , it was certainly blogger day , lots of bloggers and twitter people , clearly I don't twitter, tweet whatever, we were really welcomed to the show it was a fun time and I am so glad I went , thankfully my husband worked from home to take care of Sophie for me or I wouldn't have been able to make it and I am really happy I did . I saw Lisa and her sister from SweDaisy so I went over and introduced myself , she is as warm in person as her blog suggests, I got to meet Jennifer from Rambling Renovators it is so nice to finally meet and chat in person, you think you know who is who but there is a little uncertainty when approaching someone who you have never met in real life, I am so glad Sharon came over and introduced herself to me , I was so touched that these girls all asked how Sophie was doing , so sweet.

Lots of cameras and smart phones to capture and share this day ...such an in touch crowd, I felt a little left out , I think I need an iphone .......

Jenny McCarthy was so stunning which doesn't surprise me , I am going to have to go out and get her new book it sounds great ...
after the taping they served us a delicious pulled pork sandwich cooked in Dr Pepper , I love me Dr Pepper so this sounded devine and it was , what a special treat , my favorite part of the day was when Steven and Chris took time to talk with all of us and answer some questions these are two such nice guys....I couldn't think of anything to ask but it was just nice to be there and listen and it was even touching

Took a little time to pose for a picture with Steven and Chris and my dear friend Lisa , we had a great day it was really really fun...of course in our bumbling style Lisa and I ended up in the basement of the CBC building in the set dept , only to be greeted back on the ground level by security they wanted to "help" us find our way out , so silly ... we always have fun.

The show will air on Friday , and it does air in the US, I will find that info soon for those who want to watch which I am sure is all of you ....its a great show

How did I forget

How could I forget that I am going to a Steven and Chris Show taping tomorrow? I know but I really did , it must be because I have been living in the land of tonsillectomy recovery and acting as nurse to my daughter , trying to keep pain at bay can be a challenge, so when my friend Lisa reminded me this morning it was like being surprised all over again, I am so looking forward to it , it will be nice to get out of the house for a few hours or most of the day if I get my way.

See my world has been revolving around soft food recipes , which are hard to come by , Sophie received a nice bouquet from her Grandparents who live a couple of hours away , isn't it sweet , it made her smile ,which was priceless.

We have been spending lots of time here , I am letting Sophie sleep with me so I can keep her up on meds as needed , it is so sad she cries in the night , a lot , it seems like pain mixed with nightmares , and her sleep apnea is so much worse currently because of her swelling but I am told that will improve in a little while ...it is so hard to see her stop breathing and then gasp over and over, momma and sophie need a full nights sleep some time soon.

I have been spending the rest of my time here in the great room and kitchen trying to convince Sophie to eat and drink, so far she is eating soup and lots of eggs and apple sauce mostly, she won't touch popsicles since the hospital , guess I over stocked then .

Must go on and finalize my outfit for the morning something slimming of course , real life adds the pounds , I am way more comfortable hiding behind this keyboard and being my grubby self most often covered in paint and sawdust , OMG I had a dream the other night we had a little blonde baby , ok first off that would never happen , and I kept finding brad nails in the baby's mouth , now there's a sign no more babies for this house...haha !

Looking forward to tomorrow Toronto here we come...
