Are we in Nantucket Yet?

First I should say ADVIL is a miracle drug because it allowed me to complete this today , I am most fond of Nantucket style shingles , if I could have my entire home clad this way I WOULD, but that is not a real choice , I have pondered over the years removing sections of our vinyl siding to add feature of this beautiful REAL substance.

Look what I have done to my house, no I am not a mad painter, our beadboard had not worked out , I used MDF and primed and caulked it but it took on water , so it had to go , boy it was soaked too , this is what laid beneath , that is adhesive , so I cleaned it all up for my new shingles , how pricey was this treatment , well it was CHEAP cheap , this whole area cost $12.00 , thank you Lowe's .

I will stain it soon , but I still have to complete the area ABOVE the garage , wish me safety because I will need it , so far it is getting great reviews from my neighbour's .

Look at my latest find on Kijiji , $25.00 can you imagine , it is in good shape and I will transform it with my magic paint brush , and then re-sell it .

I went yesterday to my favorite store Homesense to find a lantern for our back deck and found this giant lantern I have been eyeing for 4 months at least , eyeing because it was too much , but now it was in my price range so I scooped it up for $25.00 what a deal. I am going to fill it with candles and it will just glow. Now to decide on a stain color for that deck , and to paint that whole fence deep grey , sounds fun doesn't it ?

I need to put some work into the little playhouse this year too , I was going to do it today but I woke up with such pain in my neck I can barely move. I am going to built Sophie a sort of daybed inside so she can hang out in there this summer . We swept out all the cobwebs and spiders so all I need to do is feel better and then she will have a great little spot to hide away .

Look at the hole my dumb dog has been digging in the "garden" he's driving me crazy .

I also want to make little shutters for the windows and freshen it up a bit , it is such a blessing to have a guest house out back !

Design planning

I have also included a sketch of the new location for the bed as well as the alcove the drapes will create and perfect hangout for a tween aged girl.

I wanted to share with you what is normally step two of my design process , after viewing photos of the space and asking a few key questions I come up with a mood board or inspiration board , like this one done for a young client who's mother Joanna won my design plan draw , they now have a complete design plan to get the room transformed . I can not wait to see how it turns out .
