The above photo shows how dark the finish was when these knobs were new , and below shows how natural wear occurs , I love the old look , the patina. You can look at the knobs and see what cupboards are used more than others.

Look how cute and springy these bowls and cups are , from the local grocery store . I used some birthday money from my Opa to get these goodies , they are very cheery on these gloomy cloudy days.

I wanted to share with you what started out as a mistake . When I ordered these Potttery barn pulls and knobs I had planned to use the library pull style one for the drawers only, however what arrived was not the count I had ordered . I recieved many more of the ones shown in this photo , so I decided to install them in the way shown . Well it has turned out very well , I have used the knobs for the uppers and all these library pulls for the base doors and drawers , I love this use , I like the way it looks and that I NEVER catch my pants or clothing on them , like I do on the regular knobs . I will do this in a future home as well, it functions very well and looks
great.

Re-do recap

I thought I should go over someof the suggestions that were made to make sense of all the welcomed advice.
Thanks for trying to help.

Let's start with the living room ,
- although many said not to paint the poll says change the color , I would still suggest to lose the red areas they draw too much attention , painting them the green would help to expand the space .
- moving the sofa away from the red wall that should be a traffic flow area , removing one sofa will make the room feel much larger , and adding an arm chair focused on the fireplace will make the most of the space.
- removing the chandelier from the fireplace area would be less distracting , putting a cap on that junction box would be better.

The dining room
- removing the small round rug
- moving the dining table centered under the light
- lowering the clock
- I would like to see clean white or cream drapes on both windows.

The kitchen
- new hardware for the cupboards will update
- new window blind to tone down the blue
- pretty canisters for the counter but not a lot of clutter
- good sized sisal rug to cover the tile
- paint the walls a rich creamy tone to warm it up

Bedroom
- move the bed
- new linens for the bed
- I am thinking just painting the bed wall will be enough to draw attention away from the blue carpet
- art for above the bed

Help Wanted.

* update: the sofas are the same size , the wall color is green

This is my neighbor's home, it is for sale and has been for a while , no offers so far , what do you think is stopping people from wanting to buy it . It is a three bedroom , 1.5 baths.

I think the dining room table is more suited to the kitchen , and a larger table and chairs will tell buyers that they can host holiday dinners , right now this type of table makes the space feel tight and suggests that a larger table can not fit , which it can , as my brother and his wife has this same plan of house , however they only had one large sofa and plenty of space to seat 6 for dinner.

My lovely neighbour has allowed me to post photos of her home in hopes of getting help , advice on how to get this house SOLD in a most sad market .

I have suggested that the paint be changed to a neutral tan color everywhere .

I also think that one of the sofas should be moved out to open up the space.

I also think the chandelier in the living room should be taken down while the house is for sale.

I would like to see the furniture moved to left wall in this bedroom, to showcase the two windows.

I think the kitchen could use some accessories , like a sisal rug to cover up some of the blue tile , and instead of the blue blinds , I think a bamboo blind would be better to not emphasize the blue counters. As well as some new lighting . And some great counter accessories ,pretty jars perhaps.

She would like to spend as little money as possible.

So here is your challenge , leave a comment on how to get this home in selling shape , least money for fasted sale.
Off to the sidebar I am setting up a poll , to paint or not to paint neutral , please cast your vote.
