Rug selection

I have been wanting a rug for this area , purely for visual appeal , I have wanted a natural material , sisal or sea grass , or even wool , which run from $99.00 to over $300 for the wool. I happened upon this Hyacinth rug today for $29.00 even if temporary it fits the bill for now , I love the colour and texture , when I get the final rug it will be larger that is for sure but I think this one will stand in fine for now.

The house is officially upside down

This is the reason people, some people will not even consider re-arranging items on a wall, yes it is work to fill holes sand them, prime them and then repaint . I touched up but didn't feel it was needed to re-paint the entire wall . That isn't too much work to freshen up a rooms arrangement a little touching up.
I have been considering painting my door black , lots of work right , but look at the after , oh what lovely impact , gorgeous , don't you love it ?

While out today I found this lovely piece at Pier 1 , isn't it fun , these are metal plates , and it is all attached , one big piece , who wants one of these?
This lamp is more of what this area needs , I love the shape , I just moved it from one spot to another , as well if you recall this is a grocery store purchase $30.00.
The mirror , isn't it great , is for Sophie's room , a little girl can not have enough mirrors , I will paint it antique white, I am working feverishly on her room , finishing the trim work , I am hoping to be finished by Sunday night. Wish me luck .

A little free decorating is going on

I have been playing today , moving things up moving things down , trying a little this trying a little that .
You will find things out when you take a photo of your room , like that I NEED a rug for this living room , and that those white brackets might be better painted black , and that my lamps aren't lampy enough , that right lampy .
I moved my beautiful bench back to it intended home , I remembered I moved it away from here because at the time I had little grubby fingered toddlers running around that could possible soil it , since I quit my day job that is no longer a concern . As well I added the leaf so my table is it full length now , the bench only fits if I extend the table this way , that's fine I like it. I am going to get out my paint brush and touch up those walls in the dining room and asap pick up my new curtain rod .
Even doing a little touch up in the front hall , white trim needs attention every now and again , its not low maintenance. Those tiles, can I talk about those tiles , I hate them , they are going to go , should be quite a mess when I rip those out. I found the perfect tiles tonight a nice deep grey , or maybe a sandy coloured slate , we will see , that is my next BIG project , never tiled a floor before , just walls, this should be easy .
