Admitting defeat

I know when something is not right , for me, there are things I love but can not live with or in apparently this new blue is one of them, I can't do it , I was impulsive my husband said yes and I thought yes too.

It has thrown everything off , it is too strong , too blue , I HATE it ! , the roman's don't go , nor the curtains , the island looks off , everything would need to change to work with the blue, what was I thinking , most of you like it or were very nice with your comments. Thank you , but it is going to go. Mason was so upset , not for the colour to change but to see me have to re-do it after yesterdays blitz, isn't that nice of her.

So here is a collection of rooms that I love that appeal to me , I would go all white creamy white but my husband is very opposed to this , so I move on , but I do believe I found a nice neutral beige, it will show off the white wood work and everything else will stay as is and as I love it .

I will go light with the settee it will look this cute and be washable.

All great peaceful light rooms. From now on I will admire the bold colour and not try to emulate.


I love this room the walls are exactly what I am going for, the room is a bit too stuffy tailored for me , I would say that is a kid-free home, but gorgeous.

Phew it is out , I will wait for the kids to be in school and do a painting /work day , got to get this portfolio in order.

Kitchen family room makeover

The table will have to light again , it never ens , I don't know where I get my energy , your guess is as good as mine.
The sun has moved away from the room and the blue intensifies, I am going crazy with this wall behind the settee , I am never happy with it , I like the black , I took away the other items from that wall, now I am thinking a whole series of small circle only mirrors all around the round mirror that is up there now , what a fun mirror.

I was very inspired by the recent post I did about the rate my space rooms , I have been wanting some more life in this room , it was feeling drab and uninspiring , well I got it , this colour has energy and everyone likes it here , it is a very happy colour. Tempered with all the white woodwork and built ins I think it works well for such a room.

I moved things around and found new ways to use accessories like the huge star , and the corbels , I am thinking that I may not be done with that area , I am thinking of filling the space with little square and round beveled mirrors with black frames in a pattern.
I am eager to get the ceiling finished with the beadboard and painting it a nice glossy white.
I do believe I have made a decision with the settee makeover it will be either a beige linen , or unbleached natural cotton.

SO what do you think did I finally lose my mind or did I get my happy kitchen family room? Be kind.

The Family room

I have been bothered by my family room for a while now, the settee NEEDS recovering badly , the arrangement above it still makes me feel a bit unhappy, the room is a bit drab, I have been wanting to change the colour but hesitated the last time I sampled paints, this photo above is my inspiration for these upcoming changes , I love the wall colour ,it is intense and has a great energy, I turned a corner when I realized I would not choose this colour or anything close to it today , it is dreary, I don't need dreary, and clearly I am moving towards more intense colours in some rooms. Although I am wanting an all white washroom in my ensuite. So it is time to just do it what am I waiting for. The house continues to evolve.
This paint colour is Bear run , by Glidden.
The cream is lifeless , don't like it , thought it might be nice for the ceiling but it changed to a mucky colour when I sampled it , oh my , lesson to all , sample the colour where ever it may go.

Off I go to the Home Depot to gather my paint. I also need new dog proof drapes , the ones I have are worn out and sun damaged , I think I can use some of the velvet for pillows , reuse recycle right. IKea will surely have what I need .
