More laundry renovations

I was pretty sure that the counter and cabinets would be in today ...apparently I was WRONG!

But things are moving forward , because the laundry tub was removed and I was able to start the back splash tile. 

 I added the counter ledge to the wall in case you are wondering what that dark strip is. Isn't that an ugly sink!!!

 For now this is how it sits so that I can install the cabinet and counter , sink and faucet.

 As long as I can still do laundry while I'm working on it .

 I must say I love how the tile turned out , I had left over subway tile and I love subway tile as well I had left over marble. Of course I needed to buy more to finish off the job but I wouldn't do it any other way. But I do hate grouting more like loathe grouting.

I installed the door on the sink cabinet and it isn't in this picture but I did add a little bit of trim to the inset above the door.

I think my husband had thought I lost my mind when I told him I wanted to build my own wood counter top....I don't think he saw this in my mind. Good thing for me it turned out well. The sink is installed
undermount next I will have to install the faucet.
