A month ago I had a vision that I could alter the fireplace unit , to create a mantel, for what's the point of having a fireplace without a mantel, my stockings have hung on the railing for 4 years now. I found this lovely detailed baseboard and it was the perfect scale for the mantel. I will finally have a place to decorate for Christmas and hang stockings , on this snowy day , it seems fitting to get this project complete so that I can get on with the job of Christmas decor.
