Shutters to add charm

I was two hinges short , I have never bought hinges singly , until now , I thought or assumed there were two in the package , there are always two , not this time, bummer .
What do you think ? was it a good move to add shutters to this window , to me it was calling for something more.

The shutters add a wonderful touch of charm. Where did you buy those shutters, or did you make them? They have so much more character than the standard shutters.

Perfect! I want to add shutters to the front of our house, I am thinking the zig zag pattern down the middle, but planks like these. Probably will stain them cedar, but love what you have done. Our house is brick.

I think they look great Chris...Rhoda over at Southern Hospitality just did the same thing with her deck....

Do you think another color would help make them pop a bit more???

Happy Summer to you,
Kathy :)

ps Did you feel the earthquake We were in CA in April and I experienced my first one...NOT FUN !!!

I did make the shutters, out of old fence boards .
Kaper 54 I like how the color is subtle as it goes with the shingles on the fireplace bump out to the right of the deck.
and no I missed the quake I was gardening and must have just thought it was a truck we live close to a major road , I feel so left out .

Love the shutters. I have shutters on my house and this just gave me the idea of maybe putting them on my shed too.

The shutters were just the right thing to fill in the space on either side of the window. Perfect.

Love the shutters and the hinges too. They look super. I did some similar ones on the inside of a window in my last house, it looked great too. Hugs, Marty

I love it. At first I thought it was a pic from some mag or another site, but it was yours! Great job.

i really like the shutters. i have a hunch that if you pot some hydrangeas, it will look very beachy, very soon.
