Nothing was wrong with this little lamp , but I wanted it to have a more worn weathered look so I dry brushed on grey and brown paint , {dry brushing is when you dip the brush in the paint and wipe off the excess so that it only has a touch of paint on the brush} , quick and easy makeover.

Looks brilliant! I love it!!!
looooooooove it !
Looks good & very beachy! Like the lamp shade too!
Gorgeous, as always!
So nice!
Makes the trim on the lampshade pop too!
Love this technique. I use it on so many things. It can give a distressed look with so little effort and so little time. Lamp looks great.
I really love that lamp with the matching trim! Is it near your gorgeous new chair? :)

I love how this looks! I've been thinking of doing this to some lamps for my family room to save some major moolah. Thanks for showing us yours, maybe I could do this after all!
Blessings,

Just popped in your blog and LOVE IT! I've added myself as a follower....can't wait to see what you are up to next.
It looks great! I like the grey color. I did that with some antique pulls on a medicine cabinet in our guest bath a few years ago and they turned out great. Dry brushing leaves a great effect.
Love how your dry brush makeover turned out!! Looks great. Did you add the ribbon to your shade or did it come like that? I was considering adding some ribbon to a shade I have but was wondering what type of glue to use. Any suggestions?
Turned out great!
Your lamp looks so great. I'm a huge fan of grey and white and the dry brushing is an excellent effect. Well done!

Fabulous!
I like how the dry brushing matches the trim on your shade.
Hi, just stumbled across your blog. Its really beautiful. Love this lamp.
The lamp looks great! I love dry brushing. I did it a few years ago on the wall in my breakfast room...coral over cream. It was beautiful!
Jane (artfully graced)
I have never dry brushed anything ever. It looks so cool. The thing I love about your re dos is that you take great things, like a darling white lamp that anyone else would think was perfect already, and then make it look even more perfect, like it was born to be grey. You have a great eye.
You did a great job, I really like the change. I'm into the grey/choc brown colors too right now. Dry brushing, my kind of project...easy peasy!
Ireally love this lamp!!!!
I have never paid attention to a lampshade. It's amazing people blog about these things!
