T-oar-riffic

I was pretty excited to get my oar in place , I decided to try it in the front room above the mirrors , and I love it there , it is the perfect touch .
I only had one doo dad { the hardware that is used to attach wire to the back of art} so I had to create my own , this is all you need .

I screwed in two small crews and wrapped wire around them to create a loop , a couple wraps around the screw and I tightened the screw , that will do just fine.

The oar is perfect and fits quite nicely above your mirrors. I love that you created your own doodad to hang the oar. I hate going to the store for doodads and thingamabobs of that nature.

LOVe that oar. I've been looking for one myself. Why do I suspect that it will be painted before the week is out.

That is the perfect location for the oar. It is kind of a note of whimsy above a symmetrical, slightly more formal arrangement {well not FORMAL, but you know what I mean}. Anyways, it looks GREAT there. What a cool score!

Love your beachy theme...
Also, I was looking around your blog and noticed all the stuff on food allergies-two of my three boys have food allergies, and one is very severe. Your links were a God-send, and I went to all. Thank you-

Hi Chris...

The oar looks great :) so glad you had fun with your friend...its nice to get some adult time !!

I took a few days away from blogland..I so agree the summer is flying by...

All the best,
Kathy :)

ps I was wondering how you like your Healthcare system in Canada...we might be getting something like it ????

Chris said...

Kathy ,
I think our health care system is amazing and we are very lucky to have it not perfect but a real blessing, I have never paid a medical bill in my life , nor have I had to wait long for needed things like surgery , I never have to second guess taking me or my children to the hospital or doctor , sometimes we wait but that is a part of life. My children have seen top specialists and had intensive care needed at one time or another and they have been treated with top rate care , so I am very pleased , if you can all get equal healthcare and never had to pay an insurance premium out of pocket like I , I think you will all be better off ,everyone should get the same access to the same care, it is such a strange thing to see medical care for profit , healthcare should be just that health care.
Now I would love it if we had dental care , because I would be all over that .

So glad I found your blog! I live in the heart of Texas by LOVE the beach. I have wondered how I would hang and oar & what on earth to put above the massive empty space above my own couch. You have given me such inspiration! BTW, I am having a giveaway on my blog...stop on by if you have a chance! Blessings!

I have an oar in my garage that belonged to my father. I remember it from when I was a child and we bought a little 14-foot boat for fishing. I always thought I would paint a beach scene on it, but I love your idea of simply hanging it. Now I'll have to make my own little doo dad and figure out where to put it. Thanks for the inspiration!
