Voila

Before , notice the most awful grass , thank the dogs for that .

3 days work, that took one week to complete because of life and poor weather and drills that don't have lasting power , resulted in a deck a seating area , a lounging /dining area , a stage for the kids to enjoy , sorry neighbors , a now usable backyard , that was not enjoyable before , we need /I need to do some painting , gardening (which I will probably put off ) and we just need some warm weather or at least sunshine. Why did we wait so long.

Cheers !

Love the muddy boots. The deck looks wonderful. I see you have a wire basket on the wall under the window. Filled with flowers that will add so much. The floral and landscaping touches will be what ices this cake, so to speak. I can envision foundation type planting around the deck, lots of pots overflowing with colorful flowers. Have you thought about lighting? They have some pretty cool lights that can be put inside the umbrella.

You've done a great job. It's alot of work. Take it from someone who has taken almost 9 months to rehab a basement!!

Great deck area for living outdoors! Isn't summer the best?

Amazing job! This is my first time commenting, but I read your blog all the time and I LOVE your style. You have a beautiful home (and beautiful daughters as well). I also have two daughters, 1 and 3, and I love what you said about not waiting until your kids are grown to have a beautiful house. You are totally my hero and I can't believe all of your DIY projects that you complete! I want to steal your wall of tile in the bathroom idea (and many others, too). When my friends and family rave, I'll totally give you credit, though!

Hi Chris,

The deck looks wonderful - especially homey with the chairs, table and umbrella. Are you going to try and close it off underneath so animals can't get under there?

cheers,
Blueberry

I have to admit to being a "lurker" for quite some time. I love your style! We are remodeling a home, and I love the exterior color of your house. Do you remember what brand of paint and what color you used? I wish I could recreate your entire house!! :)

Kris -the deck looks fab!! I love all of your outodoor furniture. I love how you have accessorized with barn stars and how the colour relates to your muskoka chairs!

I hope to hang out there soon! Even if only for a few days. It looks fantastic!

One of these years Wendy, Linda, and I should take a road trip down to your place.
